The Adult DCD Checklist (ADC)3 asks an adult to rate their performance as a child and also to rate their current performance as an adult. It covers a range of areas including motor coordination, attention, social skills and organisation. It can provide a useful first step in assessment and a basis for further discussion.

Some diagnostic conditions are commonly associated with DCD. In the event that more than one of these conditions is present, more than one diagnosis should be given. Children with DCD usually achieve early major motor milestones (e.g., walking) within the broad range of normal limits but may have difficulty learning new motor skills (e.g., riding a tricycle).
